I’m ashamed to say that I wrote ‘Nameless’ whilst being extremely judgemental about another person. My complaint was, that in my view, this person never took responsibility for her actions or lived with the consequences of her actions. She was a ‘nameless’ / ‘faceless’ person who didn’t stand up and admit her wrongdoings!! Luckily, I was there to police this!!! hahaha!!
As a result I have a poem which I quite like. However, I do try to be less judgemental about others. We’re all complex beings, living and learning and getting better as we go along!
Nameless
Speak your name
Stand up and identify yourself
I recognise you but it doesn’t spring to mind
You’re nameless
Reveal your hand
Step out and expose yourself
I notice you but I’m not certain
You’re faceless
Acknowledge your actions
Address and modify yourself
I sense you but I’m cautious
You’re reckless
Confess your faults
Speak up and humble yourself
I’m aware of you but I don’t make parallels
You’re shameless
Present your motives
Express and explain yourself
I perceive you but I’m not comforted
You’re careless.
Admit your mistakes
Apologise and redeem yourself
I accuse you but I’m not negligent
You’re blameless.
Wow ! Loving the poetry Kat .
