Oh to be an Elephant

Have you ever woke up and thought to yourself...

I’d love to be an elephant!!  LOL!! No, that thought has never crossed my mind either.  However, after a Google search about elephants – it may in the future!! hahaha!!  Just kidding!

Joking aside, I didn’t know how incredible elephants are.  I’ve got a new animal crush on elephants!  Hahahaha

This poem makes me laugh out loud at the end and I hope it has the same effect on you.  Just for giggles!!!

Oh To Be An Elephant

Today I learnt about elephants

With calm and gentle temperaments

Ranking high in intelligence

Most cultures deem them excellent.

The female herd is led by a female

Mother, sisters, daughters – led by a female

Caring for each others’ young – led by a female

Forming lifelong friendships – led by a female.

Her gestation period lasts for roughly 95 weeks

That’s almost 2 years – enough to make me weep

Shortly after the calf is born, he is standing on his feet

Weighing over 200lbs at birth – not exactly petite.

The calf can stay with mum and aunts until she is sixteen

She may stay with the herd for longer – that must make her mumma beam

I’m really impressed by elephants – I hold them in high esteem

They denote strength and power – they truly are supreme.

A boy I know said I danced like an elephant

Little did I know then, that this was a compliment

To have virtues of an elephant in this day is relevant

So call me elephant any day of the week – on this I am insistent.

YOU BETTER PUT SOME RESPECK PON MI NAME!!!!!
