I’ve been fortunate enough to see Warsan Shire perform live and that experience will be relived when I see her perform early next year at The British Library.  Warsan writes powerfully emotive poetry which I carry with me after hearing and reflect on often.

Warsan Shire is a Somali-British writer and poet and was appointed as the first young Poet Laureate of London.  She provided the poetry for Beyoncé’s visual album Lemonade.  Very impressive!!!
